Sustainable Wood

Deforestation accounts for around 20% of global GHG emissions. We can help reduce this figure by only buying timber, paper, and wood products that come from sustainably managed sources (look for the Forest Stewardship Council certification).

Hardwoods are especially important as they are often imported from Indonesia or Malaysia where deforestation is rampant. These are often used in outdoor furniture and decking.
