Everyone has a habit of filling the kettle up and putting it on when really they only want one cup!

I empty the jug each time, then fill my mug with cold water then put only the mug full of water in my jug to heat. It is also sooooo much faster and so just think how much time you could save from watching the kettle boil too :)

if you do boil too much water you can put the surplus in a thermos flask and use it next time. the water might still be hot enough or take just a little while to reboil if necessary.
