Lets all stop ironing!!!
Irons must use shedloads of electricity to heat up....what a rather pointless waste of energy!.
I realise some things may need ironing e.g. shirts but I haven't ironed anything in about 10 years and no-one has noticed!. If you hang clothes on the line then in the wardrobe they rarely need ironing. If they are creased you can hang them in the bathroom while you have a shower and the steam soon gets rid of the creases....besides so many of our clothes these days contain lycra so they stretch and dont get creased and some people pay for the creased look.
My mum and granny iron the following pointless items:
tea towels!
handkerchiefs
pyjamas
sheets (cos god forbid they should look slept in!)
..even knickers....
I am gonna point out to all these wasteful ironers the error of their ways.
DOWN WITH THE IRON!!!

Ironing
Aye, thats a fine idea. Ive not ironed for 10 yrs and also use the bathroom to "steam iron" my clothes. My husband and child also never have their clothes ironed. Who really cares if your clothes are slighty wrinkly, choose the right fabric (environmentally sound or second hand) and no worries. Blessings...
Husbands!
Oooh yes KimmyG I totally agree, I can't remember what our iron looks like actually BUT that's admitting we own one (a wedding gift!) so really I have taken this pledge on behalf of my husband. He does a small pile of work-shirt ironing about once every couple of months, but if he sorted his washing straight away each time he wouldn't need to!
Hmm, perhaps I shall 'accidentally' donate it somewhere (what else do you do when you want to get rid of your functioning iron?)
The only time I ever iron is
The only time I ever iron is when I'm sewing - it does need to be done, as you get a much nicer finish - but that's when I stop - nothing ever gets ironed in our house once they are made :)
Also, if you are making more than one thing at once, you only need to heat up the iron once!
Ironing??Whats that??

Iron age
I wonder if in the future this time now will be known as the Iron age!
Ironing
Yay! A pledge in which I can justify my lazy ways by saying it has noble environmental origins. I'm all for it!
Hey Niki - (love all the
Hey Niki - (love all the good work you do! go girl!) hey I agree on the justification area but really no one would think you were lazy but yourself if you didnt iron. I wonder, if the people in our lives judged us on whether our clothes are wrinkly or not, are they worth the thinking space? Im hoping that my wrinkly clothes, come to think of it, dont look so wrinkly after a hard days work LOL. So the end of the day, it doesnt matter. Niki Im a fan of your work - keep it up!
