Sometimes we can't help but bring plastic into our homes but we can help determine where it ends up. Lots of cereals have plastic bags inside the box, mail in courier bags are sent to us etc. Sometimes paper just dosn't cut it especially if you need a waterproof wrapper but plastic bags arn't hard to find. Next time your looking for something to wrap a parcel in, put the kids wet togs or muddy clothes into etc why not grab the old rice bubbles bag or turn the courier bag inside out to re-use it? I mail things is ricie bags fairly often and no-one cares as long as the item arrives safe and dry!

I think you are right

I think you are right about plastics ending up somewhere we might not have ever seen. I think it is agood idea to ration the amount of plastic used- or maybe even we can induce tax on plastic?

Thankyou

I think a tax would be passed onto consumers myself but restrictions would be a good idea. I went bag free at the supermarket quite a while now and don't miss having plastic bags. Things like banana's shouldn't be allowed to come in plastic! They have their own wrapper! It's easy to start going plastic bag free when you shop once you start but it's the packaging plastic that's harder to avoid hence the need to use it wisely! Thanks for your comment! Hope you have a lovely sunny weekend!

packaging

Dandelion
I thought about this too..our local supermarket is a countdown..took me a while to remember to take the green bags...and I am one of a handful only..sad.
Packaging...think food..bikkies and cakes, make your own, its healthier and you don't have as much packaging if you buy bulk flour for example.

fighting the plastic wars

Yep, I use the green bags, or am sometimes seen insisting I don't need a bag and then juggling the teabags, milk, toilet paper, toothpaste and bananas when I forgot my bag but can't bear to get a plastic one.
