Join us in a protest against the Auckland City Council for their refusal to help prevent climate change.

WHY? Recently the Auckland City Council decided to delete all goals related to preventing climate change from their Chief Executive's annual plan. They have also cancelled several other climate prevention/sustainability initiatives put in place by the previous council.
WHEN? Come any time from 5 to 6.30 pm this Thursday, the 27th of March.
WHERE? Outside the Town Hall on Queen Street.
WHAT? Even if you can only spare half an hour to stand with us, we will appreciate your support.

These decisions have been pushed through council by the majority party - Citizens and Ratepayers - despite opposition from the two minority parties - City Vision and Labour. Unfortunately, there has been little public opposition to the council's decision.

It is important to make sure that the Citizens and Ratepayers on the Auckland City Council know that Aucklanders DO care and we DO want our local government to take action to prevent dangerous climate change. We are planning to hold a protest outside the next council meeting. If you're angry about the council's refusal to take responsibility for climate change, then please come along!
