Soil Association Lecture

The Soil Association UK's annual lecture was given by author Richard Heinberg at Central Hall, Westminster, London last month. Entitled "What will we eat when the oil runs out?" highlighted the changes we need to make soon if we are to avoid the 4 imminent crises in food, fuel, climate change and depletion of natural resources that await us if we do nothing!

"Each of these crises is developing at a somewhat different pace regionally. As these crises grow and mutually interact, the consequences for humanity and the biosphere are likely to be profound and unprecedented in scope. The primary solution to each and all is a planned rapid reduction in fossil fuel consumption by society, though this presents economic and technical challenges of its own.
