Time for a change

Something about taking to the road on a mission appeals to me, and I can't think of a more worthy cause than doing some little thing to save our planet from distruction.

When I was kid ( a long time ago) I used to love to run 'round with no clothes on and enjoy the sun.

Now, you wouldn't send a kid out without plastering them with sun block or covering them from head to foot with protective clothing... or both.

I'm radical enough to think that it's a good cause to add my small voice to the growing wave of public opinion that we must do our bit to stop the distruction of our God given planet... just haven't figured out the best way to do this yet except use what I have been doing for a long time... harnessing the power of the media to bring the message home.

Enough of just thinking about it... time to make a move and do something about it.

My kids have grown up, and my beautiful, innocent grandchildren face an uncertain future in this world of corporate greed and mass distruction, and what am I doing about it... Watch this space.

re Time for a change

Welcome aboard Chris - look forward to meeting you when we get to Invercargill!

Thank you

To all, I'm on the lookout for ideas for what music to play on a special radio broadcast which will come from the Invercargill studios of Classic Gold Radio on Thursday 8th November between 7 and 9am on various radio stations around New Zealand and on the Internet via this link http://www.theflea.co.nz

If the link gets overloaded I may post an additional special link for the day... come to think of it, lets have a head count of how many folks want to tune in via the net and we'll pre-empt the problem of overloading the above link if we have the bandwidth.

If you have an idea for a song from the last 40 years, or if you've written your own song that's in good taste, then post a note on this blog and I'll try to get it played on the radio Thursday morning between 7 and 9am (New Zealand time)

If there's a good response to suggestions or original material that's broadcast quality or near enough, then we'll look at doing some more radio stuff to further the cause.

So music suggestions please...

"Damn The Dam - John Hanlon" comes to mind and so does
"Joni Mtchell - Big Yellow Taxi" ?

The O'Connors?

Check out Ecomuse on "Your Stories". I have a CD of theirs - his wife's actually. Fantastic music and words!

Music for our radio broadcast

How would you like to rip a good track down to .mp3 (128k) and send me a copy for tomorrows broadcast. Call me on 027 299 4588 for my email address.

Kind regards,
